Southwest Valley Community Plans Update Kicks Off in Woodland Hills
PUBLISHED ON: May 12, 2017
The Valley Community Planning Division of the Department of City Planning visited the Woodland Hills-Warner Center Neighborhood Council at their regularly scheduled board meeting on May 10, 2017 at the American Legion Post 826. The Community Planning staff were there to share the news that the City is kicking off an update to three community plans in the Southwest San Fernando Valley: Canoga Park-Winnetka- Woodland Hills–West Hills, Reseda-West Van Nuys, and Encino-Tarzana.
At the meeting Community Planning staff invited Woodland Hills-Warner Center Neighborhood Council to provide feedback to help shape land use and the built environment within the respective plan area.
Community Planners also requested the Council’s aid in getting the word out to their neighbors and interested parties that a community plan update is taking place in Woodland Hills that needs their input.
Four documents were shared with the Neighborhood Council to help them understand the process, as well as to help elicit their input; those items can be found here.
Community Planning staff shared a preliminary schedule for future outreach events sponsored by the Department of City Planning, and encouraged use of these workshops and online forums to share initial feedback. Staff will return to a neighborhood council meeting in June to discuss ways to collaborate with the neighborhood council on future outreach events and forums.
