In the summer of 2017, the Department of Planning embarked on a three-year process to update the Community Plans for the Southwest San Fernando Valley: Canoga Park-Winnetka-Woodland Hills, Encino-Tarzana, and Reseda-West Van Nuys. During that time, the Southwest Valley teams held several initial workshops to introduce the residents and stakeholders in each commmunity to their Community Plans, how they work, the public's role in shaping them, and to receive ideas and comments from each community. Topical Roundtable meetings were also held in the spring of 2018 to continue to receive feedback from community members on specific topics like equestrian issues. The next step in this process of updating the Community Plan in the Southwest Fernando Valley is to unveil to the residents and stakeholders the conceptual changes to each Community Plan.
